3D Animation & CGI for Robotics, Automation and Deep Tech

The robots are taking over!  We've been helping them make their case since 2018.

Robotics companies need their stories told, which is where we come in!

Robotics and deep-tech products are hard to sell with a photograph. The hardware is often mid-development, too complex to film clearly on a factory floor, or doesn't exist in physical form yet when it's time to pitch investors or launch to customers. Since 2018, Hyve Studio has worked with robotics, automation, and deep-tech companies, including Addverb, Grey Orange, and Unbox Robotics, to turn complex mechanical and AI-driven systems into 3D animation, CGI, and product films that make the technology instantly understandable. Whether it's a warehouse robot navigating the floor, a sorting system moving thousands of packages an hour, or hardware that's still on the drawing board, we build the visual language that helps robotics and deep-tech teams win customers, investors, and market share.

Why robotics & deep-tech teams work with us:

01. Visualize hardware before it's built

Most of our robotics projects start from CAD or Step efiles, engineering drawings, or early-stage prototypes, not a finished, photographable product. We build the film before the factory line does.

02. Make complex systems instantly clear

A robot's intelligence, adaptability, or safety features are hard to demonstrate live. 3D animation lets us show exactly what matters, from any angle, in any environment, without waiting for a controlled shoot. These same techniques allow us to pre-visualise the entire film if and when a shoot is required!

03. Technical accuracy, cinematic polish

Every robotics project is reviewed against real engineering specs, so the film is accurate to how the hardware actually works, without looking like a technical diagram.

04. Built for global audiences

Our robotics and automation work has been used in investor decks, trade show booths, and product launches, and our production work more broadly has reached international audiences, including a series produced for Absa Bank South Africa via BBC StoryWorks.

Storytelling beyond traditional media. How we build interactive experiences.

Its not just videos and animations that help us tell these stories. We also work with intuitive interactive 3Dexperiences that change the way audiences consume content. Without the limitations of a video duration while still keeping the visual fidelity of animated worlds, we build these interactive Three.JS experiences using web3D technology, for a new way of consuming content.

01. Addverb: Storytelling with Animation and Video for Warehouse Automation leaders

Addverb isn't a one-off project for us, it's a running collaboration. Alongside Trakr, the AI-driven warehouse robot built to navigate stairs, tunnels, and tight terrain, we've produced a series of additional films for Addverb, each tackling a different piece of their robotics and automation lineup. Rather than treating every product as a standalone brief, we've built a consistent visual language across the collection, the same level of technical accuracy, the same cinematic polish, so that whether it's one robot or the full fleet, Addverb has a unified way of showing investors, customers, and trade-show audiences exactly what their technology can do. It's the kind of long-term, multi-video partnership that reflects how deeply we've gotten to know Addverb's engineering and product roadmap over time, not just a single machine.

02. Unbox Robotics : Giving a Robotic Sorter a Visual Language

Unbox Robotics builds high-speed robotic sorting systems for warehouses and fulfillment centers, technology that's genuinely difficult to explain to a non-technical buyer in a few seconds. Hyve Studio was brought in to design a combined 3D and UI/UX visual language that could communicate the sorter's capabilities clearly, whether the audience was a logistics operator, an investor, or a first-time visitor to Unbox Robotics' website. Over the past few months, we translated the mechanics of the sorting system into a brand video that's now central to how Unbox Robotics introduces the product to new audiences, and helped the brand create a content bank and design systems that helped their social growth to over 40,000 followers across different channels.

03. Grey Orange : Visualizing the Warehouse of the Future

Grey Orange is one of India's most established names in automated warehouse logistics, however, showing what their technology does today, and where it's headed next, meant visualizing products and environments that didn't exist yet. Over a 12-week production, Hyve Studio built a conceptual visualization of the future warehouse, blending Grey Orange's current product line with its next-generation roadmap into a single, cinematic piece of storytelling, using 3D animation and VFX to make an abstract vision concrete.

04. Aurm: Reimagining the Bank Locker as Smart, Secure Hardware

Aurm reimagines the bank locker for the smartphone era: secure, tech-enabled vaults installed inside gated communities, with 24/7 access and military-grade security replacing the branch visit. Hyve Studio helped Aurm visualize the technology and experience behind the product, turning a genuinely new category of secure-storage hardware into a story audiences could understand and trust.

How We Turn Engineering Into a Story

Five-step process, adapted from the studio's existing methodology but reframed for hardware/robotics clients:

‍

  1. Ingest : We start with what you already have, CAD files, engineering drawings, spec sheets, or an early prototype. No finished product required.‍
  2. Define the story : What does a customer, investor, or trade-show visitor actually need to understand in the first 10 seconds? We find the core narrative before we build a single frame.‍
  3. Style frames & technical review: Early visuals are checked against your team's specs, so accuracy is locked in before full production begins.
  4. ‍Production: Modeling, texturing, lighting, and animating the hardware and its environment, built to match how the product actually moves and functions.‍
  5. Iterate & deliver:  Structured review rounds with your product and marketing teams, refining until the film is both technically correct and genuinely compelling.
